Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional dental care to our young patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during dental procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of pediatric dentistry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Take medical imaging and assist with diagnostic procedures as needed.
Manage patient records, including medical documentation and coding, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Educate patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Utilize dental terminology effectively in communication with team members and patients.
Support the front office with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow within the clinic as needed.
Assist in various dental procedures including prosthodontics under the supervision of the dentist.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably in a pediatric setting, is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Epic systems or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
Knowledge of medical coding, medical documentation, and infection control practices is essential.
Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures related to pediatric dentistry.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and their parents.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $16.00 - $27.00 per hour
