Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hygienist to join our fee for service private dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring optimal oral health for our patients. You will play a crucial role in educating patients about oral hygiene, performing preventive dental procedures, and assisting the dental team in delivering comprehensive care.
Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including taking medical histories and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings and scaling to remove plaque and tartar from teeth.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in four-handed dentistry by supporting the dentist during procedures.
Utilize medical imaging techniques to capture diagnostic images as needed.
Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record systems, including medical coding when necessary.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Experience

Familiarity with infection control practices and patient care standards is essential.
Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and systems used in dentistry is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a focus on patient comfort and care.
