Job description
Responsibilities:- Assist the dentist during dental procedures- Take and record vital signs of patients- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment- Take and develop dental x-rays- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure infection control- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program- Current certification in dental assisting preferred- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols- Understanding of medical documentation, including medical coding and recordkeeping- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
Skills:- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients- Ability to work well as part of a team
