We are looking for a competent dental assistant who will make the dentistâs office more efficient and pleasant for patients. At Dr. Lester's office, all assistant staff is cross trained for front desk duties as well as assisting duties. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail and be proficient in chairside assisting and expanded functions.
Dr. Lester provides ample opportunities for continuing education and values an assistant who wants to learn more and better themselves and our office.
Patient comfort is our priority. We operate a fee for service dental office and prefer to work at a more leisurely pace to provide adequate patient communication and comfort.
Dr. Lester provides state of the art dental technology and advancements as options for our patients. We use dental lasers, digital impression scanners, and in-house milling and 3D printing (CAD/CAM) to make the best experiences for our patients.
The hired dental assistant will be trained to scan for digital impressions and CAD/CAM design. You will be expected to obtain proficient digital dentistry skills. An assistant who is technology driven is a major plus!
This job is 24-36 hours per week with full schedules (7-5) Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday. Monday and Friday are booked as needed and the assistant needs to be available to work when schedule permits.
Responsibilities
Welcome patients in the dental office
Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental rooms and front desk clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
File insurance
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
Skills
Proven experience as dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is required
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
