Description:
The Dental Hygienist plays a key role in delivering high-quality oral health care. This position is responsible for providing preventative dental services, promoting oral health education, and supporting the dental team in delivering comprehensive care.
Role and Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, periodontal scaling, and root planning
Conduct oral health assessments and screenings
Take, process, and interpret dental X-rays
Adhere to infection control standards and OSHA regulations
Educate patients on oral hygiene, diet, and tobacco cessation
Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
Collaborate with dentists and medical providers to support integrated care
Other Duties as Assigned
Provide outreach and oral health education to schools and community groups as needed
Requirements:
Graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited Dental Hygiene program
Licensed Dental Hygienist in good standing with the state of Utah
Valid CPR/BLS certification
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental hygiene, preferred
Experience working with underserved or diverse populations preferred
Skill & Competencies
Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based care setting
Strong communication and patient engagement skills
