OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our lovely dental office in Durango, CO. The position is flexible in days (3 or 4 days) on M, T, W, Th. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and providing exceptional patient care. You will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality care. This position requires a commitment to infection control and a thorough understanding of dental office procedures.
Duties

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and conducting oral cancer screenings.
Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Utilize medical imaging technology for diagnostic purposes, ensuring accurate imaging results.
Document patient information accurately, including medical coding as necessary.
Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient care and improve office systems.

Qualifications

Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Colorado.
Experience in a dental office setting is preferred.
Proficient in conducting patient assessments.
Familiarity with medical imaging equipment and procedures.
Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
