Experienced Dental Assistant - Outshine Family Dental - Covington, LA

HOURS
Monday - Thursday | 7:30 - 5:00 with 30-minute lunch break
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Duties

chart preparation
postoperative calls
scheduling follow-up appointments
scheduling treatment for patients
properly explain postoperative care instructions to patients
sterilize instruments
take x-rays
Ability to digitally scan for occlusal guards, dentures, partials, etc. (will train on the job to use Cerec/Itero)
assist the doctor chairside with procedures such as implants, crowns, composite fillings, bridges,root canals, etc.
properly log & track lab cases
maintain/care for equipment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Skilled in the use of standard dental office equipment including: Autoclave, model trimmer, Nomad, pano, CT, oxygen and nitrous oxide, intraoral camera, CEREC EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS!
Ability to take blood pressure.
Knowledge of cross contamination and how to prevent it.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and changes.
Ability to take radiographs, including FMX, pano, and anterior PA’s.

Education/ Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of accredited dental assisting program (not required if you learned on the job)
Experience required. At least 1 year of chairside experience.
EFDA/EDDA Certification PREFERRED, but not required.

Special Requirements/ Certifications/ Licenses

Valid x-ray certificate
CPR (BLS)
Licenses required for this position must be kept current, valid, and in good standing with the presiding entity.
