OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our dynamic biological dentistry team in a fast-paced dental clinic. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. As an EFDA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional patient care, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
Utilize 3D scanning technology to assist in creating accurate impressions for dental procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records using clinic systems, including Open Dental, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up calls to ensure optimal patient flow.
Assist with inventory management of dental supplies and materials.
Experience
Previous experience as a Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with general dentistry practices and procedures.
Proficiency in using dental systems and technology, including 3D scanners.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and the dental team.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.

Pay: $22.14 - $23.62 per hour
