POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dental Support Technician is responsible for assisting the dental care team in providing essential high-quality cleaning, sterilization and disinfection of care equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform high-quality cleaning procedures, while working in a safe and effective manner
To ensure that all areas of the dental practice are regularly cleaned, paying attention to the safety procedures, standard precautions and infection control processes
Disinfection of dental operatory
Transportation of dirty instruments
Practices proper waste management techniques, disposal of sharps, biohazard, general garbage, etc.
Stocking the rooms/operatories
Stocking the storage room
Unloading and unpacking supply deliveries/shipments
Helping hygienist during down time
Closing Alcott duties as assigned
Shocking the lines once a month
Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Attends in-service, departmental and staff meetings
Ability to work a flexible schedule or as required by business needs
Other duties as assigned.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Must have high school diploma, or GED
Experience in custodial services is preferred, but not required.
