Overview:
We are seeking an Orthodontic All-Rounder/Patient Coordinator/Assistant to help facilitate smooth patient flow and delivering exceptional customer service to our patients and their families. to assist in the performance of quality, caring, clinical procedures by aiding the doctor smoothly and unobtrusively during examinations and treatment. The Orthodontic Assistant performs clinical and technical procedures under the supervision of the orthodontist as well as prepares the operatory and equipment, gets the patient ready, and maintains awareness of the comfort and safety needs of patients. In addition, this person will learn cross-training skills to become an invaluable member of the orthodontic office. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Orthodontics and providing exceptional patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic orthodontic practice.
Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups
- Greet patients and visitors with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing inquiries
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Handle incoming calls and address patient queries promptly
- Ensure compliance with medical office procedures and regulations
- Assist orthodontist during patient examinations and treatments
- Prepare patients for procedures by taking vital signs and medical histories
- Maintain accurate medical dental records and update patient information
- Assist with orthodontics procedures as needed
- Assist the doctor with chart notes and orthodontic case presentations
- Assist with orthodontic instrument sterilization and maintenance
- Utilize medical imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes
- Document medical procedures accurately in patient charts
- Perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently
- Support front desk and treatment coordinating duties as required
Ideal Candidate Traits:
- Preference for 1 year in orthodontic, dental, or medical office
- Interested in learning orthodontic billing processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A fast learner with excellent time management
- A team player who is adaptable and flexible
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Eager to contribute in multiple roles throughout the office as we are a small, yet growing, team
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6-12 months relevant experience in the dental profession
Required Skills:
- Willingness to learn and be cross-trained
- Self-motivated
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Focused on amazing patient experience
- Excited for new technology and technological advancements within Orthodontics realm
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with orthodontic procedures
- Competence in using dental imaging equipment
- Proficiency in accurate medical documentation practices
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Radiology certificate is a plus
