Dental Hygienist - Hamlin Dental Center - Clearfield, PA

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice on a temporary basis for three months(Mid May-Mid August)to cover for maternity leave. The position could become permanent once the maternity ends in late Aug. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures. You will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and educating patients on proper dental hygiene practices.
Duties

Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical history and oral examinations.
Conduct professional cleanings, scaling, and root planing as necessary.
Take and interpret medical imaging to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, dietary choices, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate medical records using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software.
Assist in the management of the dental clinic environment to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
Monitor vital signs as needed during patient visits.
Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to provide comprehensive patient care, including pediatrics when applicable.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.

Requirements

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in medical coding and familiarity with dental assisting practices is preferred.
Experience with Dentrix or Eaglesoft software is highly desirable.
Strong skills in patient assessment and ability to perform medical imaging procedures.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
Knowledge of pediatric dental care is a plus but not mandatory.
