Registered Dental Hygienist - Dr. Gary Westerman DMD - Southbury, CT

Two days weekly, on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday 8:30-5:30
As a Dental Hygienist, you will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting oral health, building trust with patients of all ages. Dr. Westerman has a long-established, solo dental practice in a home/office setting, encouraging hygiene and preventive dentistry. We use Dentrix practice software and Dexis digital xrays. Reporting to the Dentist, your core responsibilities include conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g. removing plaque and calculus) and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. Responsibilities

Sterilize dental instruments properly
Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Perform thorough and comfortable hygiene procedures
Educate patients of all ages on proper oral care at home
Take X-rays
Monitor supplies
Conduct patient assessments and maintain accurate dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Utilize Dentrix software for documentation and scheduling

Qualifications

Valid dental hygiene license
Experience with medical records and documentation review
Familiarity with Dexis and Dentrix software
Ability to perform patient assessments and vital signs monitoring
Proven experience as Dental Hygienist preferred
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job

Pay: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour
