Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Pittsburgh, PA

Our endodontic practice located in Milpitas, CA is seeking an experienced, full time Registered Dental Assistant to join our team. Previous endodontic experience is helpful, but not required. Weâre willing to train the right person who has the basic core skills, a willingness to learn, and a good attitude.
Responsibilities include:
Documenting patient treatment information and ensuring all necessary information is entered in the patientâs electronic health record. This includes entering the patientâs chief complaints and health history, as well as taking notes during patient appointments then writing them up clearly and accurately in the electronic health record.
Assisting the doctor and anticipating his needs during patient examinations and procedures
Taking digital radiographs and cone beam CTs
Answering patients' questions and discussing pre- and post-treatment instructions
Preparing trays and setting up rooms
Breaking down/disinfecting rooms
Sanitizing and sterilizing instruments, trays, tools, etc.
Implementing a preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment
Monitoring inventory and ordering back office supplies
Creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere for patients
Requirements:
Current RDA and xray license
Must be able to correctly document patient information in the electronic health record - take notes during patient appointments, write clear and accurate treatment notes, enter patientsâ chief complaints and health history
Strong knowledge of dental terminology and a willingness/ability to learn any endodontic terminology youâre not familiar with
Strong knowledge of dental procedures and infection control protocols
Proficient in using dental software and equipment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills - the ability to put patients at ease and get along well with co-workers
Ability to follow instructions as well as take initiative
Professional work ethic
Have a good attitude and willingness to learn
Regular and dependable attendance is a critical requirement for this position
Applicants who reach the final stage of the interview process will be required to pass a background check and come in for a paid working interview prior to being offered the position.
Typical Work Schedule: Approximately 35-40 hours per week, based on the patient schedule. Our office hours are:
Monday â 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesday â 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Wednesday â 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday â 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Friday â 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
