Responsibilities:
The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice.
Identifies patient concerns and communicates to provider, updates patient medical history, pain assessments, ID patient
Demonstrates skills and knowledge when preparing and setting up operatory for procedures and educating patients at the request of the provider
Cross covers and assists front desk as needed
Demonstrates skills and knowledge when interacting with patient and provider with clear concise communication
Prepares patient for scheduled procedure
Decontaminates instruments & equipment
Prepares instruments for sterilization according to policies
Reports damaged or missing instruments
Orders and stocks supplies
Maintains infection control standards
Qualifications:
Education/Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, required
Experience:
Experience in the dental field, preferred
Licensure/Certificates:
Certified dental assistant, preferred
BLS certification within 6 months from date of hire, required
