Your Impact: Provide advanced chairside support to orthodontists during a wide range of orthodontic procedures. Guide and mentor junior dental assistants, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and high standards of care. Prepare, maintain, and organize orthodontic instruments, appliances, and treatment areas. Educate patients and parents on treatment plans, appliance care, oral hygiene, and post-procedure expectations. Take high-quality orthodontic X-rays, intraoral scans, and impressions. Assist in placing and removing brackets, bands, wires, and retainers under orthodontist supervision. Oversee clinical flow and coordination with front office staff to maintain scheduling efficiency. Maintain compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols.
What You Bring: Certification from an accredited dental assisting program; orthodontic specialty certification is a strong plus. 2+ years of hands-on orthodontic assisting experience. Proven ability to take initiative, work independently, and lead by example. Strong knowledge of orthodontic appliances, procedures, and patient care standards. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills. Proficiency with dental software (experience with Dentrix Ascend is a plus). Current radiology certification and up-to-date CPR/BLS credentials.
