What You’ll Do: Assist orthodontists chairside during consultations, adjustments, and other orthodontic procedures. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and materials specific to orthodontics. Educate patients (and parents/guardians) on proper oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment timelines. Support with tasks such as placing and removing orthodontic bands and brackets, taking impressions, and fitting aligners or retainers. Take and process orthodontic radiographs and intraoral photographs. Ensure a clean, sterile, and organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols. Collaborate with the front office to ensure smooth scheduling and patient flow. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and appliances used.
What We’re Looking For: Completion of an accredited dental assisting program (orthodontic-specific experience is a plus but not required). Enthusiasm to learn and grow in the orthodontic specialty. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow clinical protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with younger patients. Familiarity with digital dental software (Dentrix Ascend is a plus!). Radiology certification (preferred or willing to obtain). Team player with a great attitude and commitment to patient care.
