Job Overview
Parkland Orthodontics is looking for a friendly, organized, and team-oriented orthodontic assistant to join our family-oriented practice. Key Responsibilities:
Assist orthodontist during patient examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Take X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize management software for scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to assist the orthodontist effectively.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Monitor vital signs when necessary and report any concerns to the orthodontist.
Operate i-Tero scanner
Take impressions and make retainers
Maintain infection control standards throughout the office.

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
Requirements
Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant (min. 2 years)
Proficiency in orthodontic adjustments - arch wire changes, banding and debanding procedures to name a few.
Proficiency in dental terminology and understanding of infection control protocols.
Ability to take X-rays and operate 3D scanning equipment effectively.
Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a busy environment.
Knowledge of vital signs monitoring is beneficial but not mandatory.

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
