Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team for one day per week, with the opportunity to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays.The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring their oral health is maintained and improved. This position requires a compassionate individual who is committed to patient education and comfort while performing various dental hygiene procedures.
Duties
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using medical imaging techniques.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary choices, and the importance of regular dental visits.
Identify problem areas and communicate findings with the dentist
Evaluate gum health and recommend appropriate treatments (irrigation, Arestin, or laser therapy) when needed
Maintain accurate patient records using Eaglesoft.
Assist in the management of infection control protocols within the office.
Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care for patients, including those in pediatrics and general dentistry settings.
Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures.
Stay updated on dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to enhance patient interactions.
ExperienceCandidates should possess:
Previous experience in dental assisting or a similar role is preferred.
Proficiency in medical imaging and familiarity with Eaglesoft software is advantageous.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential.
Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus, as well as a strong background in general dentistry.
