Dental Hygienist (RDH) - Midshore Dental, Dr. Scott M. Novak, DDS - Denton, MD

Dr. Scott Novak and his dental team are looking for a dental hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, preventing and treating dental diseases. In this role you will complete treatment of patient’s oral and periodontal care including patient education. You will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest standards of oral health.
Intra Oral Scanning (IOS) and CBCT imaging are available to ensure we are fully utilizing the latest technology to ensure patient care is at the highest standard. We utilize Dentrix as our PMS and Dexis for radiographs/photos. Our schedule is a 4-day work week, we do not work evenings or Saturdays.
Our office is a CDOCs mentor plus participant, which offers our employees unlimited continuing education (at no cost to the employee) for individual clinical growth and success through dentistry's most innovative online learning resource platform, Spear Education. Providing more than 1,500 lessons and industry-leading dental CE materials proven to refine your clinical techniques. Dental CE credits may be completed at your leisure. This platform also includes patient education which empowers your patients with videos and supporting content that explain their individual cases in terms they can easily understand with more than 160 animated videos designed by multimedia experts.
Responsibilities:

Performs assessment and treatment of teeth and gums; take necessary x-rays, take intra-oral photos, completes periodontal charting; address patient's hygiene and restorative needs; educate patient on what doctor will likely recommend in the form of treatment; documenting findings including patient medical histories and medical records in the practice management software
Maintain proper knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliances and clinical skills
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members
Ability to provide compassionate patient care while ensuring comfort during treatments, helping to ensure patients understand their dental hygiene needs
Assist with sterilizing dental equipment for each patient

Dental Hygienist Requirements and Qualifications:

Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from an accredited program
Current Maryland state license or license eligible
Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures
Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
