We are seeking a dedicated and friendly dental assistant to work in our busy dental office. We see patients of all ages, including children. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of dental terminology and basic dental techniques, but also have strong communication skills and be able to follow office protocols. Dental assistants are trained in our office in a variety of general dentistry procedures as well as in aseptic technique for surgical procedures. Dental assistants MUST BE DETAILED ORIENTED and be able to write clinical notes. A dental assistant may work as a sterilization tech while being trained on procedures. Rate of pay will be determined by level of experience and skill. Our assistants usually work an average of 32 hours per week, however, overtime is possible.
A Tennessee dental assisting license will be required for this position. We will accept candidates who are still in a training program for dental assisting. We will pay for a nitrous training course for an employee who does not have that certification.
Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for examinations and surgeries.
Take health histories and vitals on patients.
Assist doctors during dental procedures.
Present treatment and explain dental procedures to patients.
Create clear clinical notes in the patients' chart, detailing what was done at each appointment.
Clean equipment and maintain the dental office.
Have knowledge of dental practices, procedures, and terminology.
Follow all office policies.
Follow all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 42 per week
