Job Description:
As a Dental Assistant/EFDA at Spokane Family Dental, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team and ensuring a positive patient experience. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting the dentist during dental procedures, including chairside assistance and instrument preparation.
Taking and developing dental X-rays as needed.
Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment.
Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and organised.
Educating patients on proper oral hygiene and post-operative care.
Recording patient information, treatment plans, and charting dental procedures accurately.
Providing exceptional customer service and creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for patients.
We offer all general dentistry services for our patients and also endodontics, implants, implant retained teeth, dentures, partials, Invisalign, ZOOM whitening, IV/Oral sedation and wisdom tooth extractions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; formal dental assistant training or certification is preferred.
Knowledge of dental software (e.g., Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to patient care.
CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
Previous experience in a dental office is a plus but not required.
Welcome customers in the dental office
Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
