Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control standards.
Take medical imaging and utilize 3D scanners for accurate diagnostics.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems such as Dentrix and Epic.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
Skills
Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and operation of 3D scanners.
Strong background in dental assisting, including familiarity with dental terminology.
Knowledge of infection control practices within a clinical setting.
Experience with electronic health records systems such as Dentrix or Epic is preferred.
Understanding of medical terminology related to orthodontics.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with patients of all ages.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
