Dental Assistant - First Light Dental - Leesburg, VA

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients. This role requires proficiency in various dental assisting techniques, including the use of advanced technology and adherence to safety protocols.
Duties

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure.
Perform vital signs checks to monitor patient health before and during procedures.
Utilize a 3D scanner for capturing precise dental impressions.
Assist in general dentistry procedures and help with dental sleep medicine and TMJ procedures
Maintain aseptic technique throughout all dental procedures to ensure patient safety.
Manage patient records and assist with scheduling appointments.
Gather information from patients as necessary
Educate patients as necessary

Requirements

Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with knowledge of dental systems and procedures.
Proficient in taking X-rays and proficiency and strong understanding and practice of aseptic techniques.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
