Responsibilities:

Perform thorough dental cleanings, periodontal therapy, and fluoride treatments
Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
Take and review digital X-rays for diagnosis
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Qualifications:

Licensed Dental Hygienist (state certification required)
Strong communication and patient care skills
Detail-oriented with a passion for promoting oral health
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Duties

Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and periodontal therapy.
Assess and document patients' oral health status, including taking medical histories and vital signs.
Conduct thorough documentation reviews and maintain accurate medical records.
Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
Assist in the education of patients regarding oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide four-handed dentistry support during procedures.
Utilize dental software systems, such as Eaglesoft, for patient management and record keeping.
Provide assistance in pediatric dentistry as needed, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.

Experience

Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review processes is beneficial.
Knowledge of vital signs monitoring is a plus.
Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
Proficiency in aseptic techniques and maintaining cleanliness in the clinical environment is essential.
