Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist and providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing chairside assisting, taking vital signs, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our patients.
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatrics, and specialty treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring impressions and trimming models
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist
- Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health record systems (Epic)
- Assist with dental receptionist duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed
Skills:
- Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems for digital impressions (preferred)
- Experience working with pediatric patients (preferred)
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry
- Ability to take accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
