Here at Edina Orthodontics - Centennial Lakes, we have an experienced team that includes 3 talented, caring and friendly orthodontists, 5 skilled, hard-working and fun licensed dental assistants, and 3 amazing, helpful and joyful front office support team members. We have family friendly office hours, Monday-Thursday 7:30-4:30 during the school year with shortened hours during the summer so we can enjoy the short Minnesota summer. We strive to make our work environment fun while providing a high-quality care for our patients.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our patients while assisting the orthodontist in various procedures. This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, willingness to learn and know how to be a team player. Does this sound like you have these skills? Daily Tasks
Assist the orthodontist during patient treatments, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Take X-rays and assist with diagnostic imaging as needed.
Utilize dental software, Ortho 2, for maintaining medical records.
Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care instructions and updates on their treatment.
Operate 3D intraoral scanner.
Qualifications
Applicants must be licensed or have already graduated from a CODA accredited dental assisting program and have or plan on acquiring a current dental assisting license to work in Minnesota within the next few months.
If you have orthodontic experience, awesome! If not, no problem. We love to train new graduates and assistants who have never had the chance to fall in love with orthodontics.
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and safety protocols.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing excellent patient care.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
