Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our pediatric dentists to provide exceptional dental care to children. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for young patients, and maintaining high standards of infection control. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of general dentistry practices and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols.
Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis.
Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software, including medical history and treatment plans.
Educate patients and their families about proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures.
Ensure the dental office is clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations.
Support the front office staff with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when necessary.
Skills
Proficient in infection control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental management software systems.
Knowledge of general dentistry procedures and protocols.
Experience in taking X-rays with an understanding of radiographic safety measures.
Basic understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures.
Strong assisting skills to effectively support the dentist during treatments.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures.
Understanding of human anatomy relevant to pediatric dentistry.
Ability to monitor and record vital signs accurately.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 â 20 per week
