Orthodontic Dental Assistant
SmileWorks Orthodontics is looking for an energetic, compassionate and detail oriented Orthodontic Dental Assistant who enjoys working with children and adults to join our team! We are a growing practice committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients through our full range of orthodontics services. We are looking for someone with experience in orthodontics to work alongside our amazing orthodontists to help achieve beautiful healthy smiles for our patients. Job Responsibilities:
Assist orthodontists in assessing a patientâs teeth and developing the best plan of treatment
Provide chair-side assistance with a friendly and positive demeanor, contributing to a pleasant patient experience
Perform routine orthodontic procedures, such as cleanings and maintenance of orthodontic devices
Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
Take X-rays, photographs, casts, molds, and impressions of patientsâ teeth and mouths to aid in diagnosis and treatment monitoring
Communicate effectively with patients to address concerns, answer questions, and offer support during their orthodontic treatment
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve patient care and clinic operations.
Qualifications/Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent, certification in dental assisting preferred
Positive and energetic personality with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact warmly with patients and their families
Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Proficient in taking dental x-ray and familiar with medical imaging equipment and techniques
Experience with Open Dental EMR system is preferred
Ability to maintain accurate patient records and update medical charts
Experience in Orthodontics preferred
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certification
Dental Radiology Certification
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
