```Overview```As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. If you have a passion for dentistry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
```Duties```- Welcome patients in the dental office- Assist the dentist during procedures- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort- Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed- Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to the OSHA regulations.- Disinfect treatment rooms according to the OSHA regulations- Undertake lab tasks as instructed- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked- Organize trays, instruments and treatment room drawers.- Schedule appointments- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
```Skills```To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:- A positive attitude and at least 1 year of experience as a dental assistant- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods- Understanding of health & safety regulations- Experience with Eaglesoft Computer System- Excellent communication and people skills- Attention to detail- Well-organized and reliable- High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred- Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)- Must be punctual, reliable, a team player, and ready to work- Proficiency in medical coding and terminology- Ability to take accurate dental x-rays- Familiarity with dental assisting procedures and techniques
