Dental Hygienist - Smith Family and Cosmetic Dentistry - Wilmington, NC

Duties:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments- Take and develop dental x-rays- Conduct oral cancer screenings- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as necessary- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment
Skills:
- Proficient in recording patient information accurately- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology- Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record systems- Ability to maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent cross-contamination- Skilled in conducting patient assessments to identify oral health issues and develop appropriate treatment plans- Thorough understanding of infection control protocols to minimize the risk of transmission of infectious diseases- Excellent medical documentation skills to ensure accurate recording of patient information and treatment details- Familiarity with managing and maintaining electronic medical records
