OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, ensuring optimal oral health, and maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with infection control protocols. This role is vital in educating patients about oral hygiene practices and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities

Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in the management of infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record system
Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Provide support in pediatric dentistry, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.
Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and coding relevant to dental practices.

Skills

Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
Proficient in medical terminology related to dental care.
Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
Experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of medical coding is an asset.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles is advantageous.
Ability to perform vital sign assessments accurately.
Competence in utilizing Soft Dent or similar dental software systems.
