Pediatric Dental Assistant - Bubble Gum Kids Dentistry - Southgate, MI

OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our pediatric dentists to provide exceptional care to our young patients. Your primary focus will be on creating a comfortable and friendly environment for children while assisting with various dental procedures and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
Take and develop X-rays as needed, utilizing appropriate safety measures.
Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Assist with the management of appointments and patient flow within the office.
Conduct preliminary assessments including taking vital signs when necessary.
Utilize Dentrix software for scheduling, billing, and maintaining patient records.
Support the implementation of infection control protocols throughout the practice.

ExperienceThe ideal candidate will possess:

Experience in pediatric dentistry or a strong interest in working with children.
Familiarity with infection control practices and protocols in a dental setting.
Proficiency in using Dentrix software for managing patient records and appointments.
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures is a plus.
Experience with 3D scanners for imaging is preferred but not required.
Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs is advantageous.
