Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and support throughout their healthcare journey. This position involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and maintaining accurate medical records, all while providing outstanding customer service.
Duties
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about services.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently while managing the calendar for healthcare providers.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with health information management standards.
Process medical billing and insurance claims, including Medicare submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
Utilize eClinicalWorks software for patient management and record-keeping.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans, treatment options, and any necessary follow-up procedures.
Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when interacting with patients and other healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with dental receptionists to ensure seamless coordination of dental services when applicable.
Stay informed about dental terminology to assist in patient communications related to dental care.
Experience
Previous experience in health information management or a similar role is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is an advantage.
Knowledge of Medicare processes and medical billing practices is beneficial.
Experience in managing medical records and understanding of medical terminology is essential.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to interact effectively with patients and staff.
