Golden State Dentistry, a growing dental practice in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a Dental Front Office Receptionist to work 36 hours/week, Monday 9am â 1pm, Tuesday through Friday, 9am â 6pm. The Dental Front Office Receptionist will be a key member of the team, supporting the practice by greeting and checking patients in and out, coordinating the schedule, managing patient files, and assisting with insurance verification, billing, and collections. The Dental Front Office Receptionist will be highly reliable, detail-oriented, well-organized with excellent customer service, communication, and advanced computer/software skills.
Responsibilities:
Greet and interact with patients in a friendly and courteous manner
Manage patient registration by verifying and updating patient information, helping patients fill out required forms and documents, and entering all relevant patient information into the practice management software
Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with privacy and security regulations (HIPAA) and inform patients of dental office procedures and policies
Manage patient payments by collecting and entering payments at the time of treatment, informing patients of financing options (e.g. CareCredit and Sunbit), and collecting and explaining any outstanding balances
Coordinate the office calendar by scheduling, rescheduling, cancelling, and confirming appointments, and filling in cancellations and no-shows, ensuring the schedule is full
Responsible for monitoring production in line with meeting daily, weekly, and monthly goals
Manage office communication by answering incoming calls and emails in a timely manner, managing voicemail, responding and complying with requests for information, and sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
Collaborate with the doctor to manage patient photos
Manage front desk area by monitoring office supplies for reorder and maintaining a professional reception area
Attend all staff meetings
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Associate's degree preferred, but not required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel)
Knowledge and understanding of dental terminology including billing codes
Must be computer literate (know how to operate a PC, printer, scanner, iPAD)
Must have a strong attention to detail and numbers
Minimum of 2 years of prior dental front office experience
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
A motivated self-starter who can work well both with little supervision and with close direction
