Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest standards of oral health. You will work closely with our dental team to deliver comprehensive hygiene services, educate patients on oral health practices, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in the management of infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient records and scheduling.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans.
Collaborate with dentists in treatment planning and patient care, including assisting with procedures when necessary.
Work effectively with pediatric patients to provide a comfortable experience during their visits.
Skills
Proficiency in using dental office systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix is preferred.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and assess patient needs effectively.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health practices.
Experience in providing patient care within a dental office setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of assisting in various dental procedures, particularly in pediatrics, is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health regulations.
