OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices. This role is essential in providing preventative care, educating patients on oral health, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with dentists and other staff to deliver exceptional dental services in a friendly and professional environment.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
Maintain accurate medical records and document all procedures performed in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a sterile working environment.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide high-quality care in general dentistry and pediatrics.
Support the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed, including assisting with medical imaging.
Experience
A valid dental hygiene license is required.
Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, particularly in general dentistry or pediatrics.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and medical records management is essential.
Experience with medical coding and assisting duties will be considered an asset.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with patients of all ages are crucial for success in this role.
