Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. You will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral hygiene, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care. A strong understanding of aseptic techniques and familiarity with dental office procedures are essential for success in this role.
Our patient care hours are Monday and Tuesday 8-5, with lunch from 12-1, and Wednesday-Thursday 8-3.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patient oral health.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in Dentrix software.
Take and record vital signs as necessary before procedures.
Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to aseptic techniques.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care, particularly in pediatrics and general dentistry settings.
Manage inventory of dental supplies and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in assisting within a dental office environment.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry.
Experience with Dentrix or similar dental management software is preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
