Job description
Responsibilities:- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth- Take and develop dental x-rays- Conduct oral cancer screenings- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide to patients as needed- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral hygiene instructions- Assist the dentist during dental procedures- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Skills:- Proficiency in using dental software, such as Dentrix Ascend, for patient record management- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and equipment- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and oral health conditions- Ability to perform aseptic techniques to prevent the spread of infection- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and communicate with patients of all ages, including pediatrics- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring during dental procedures
Preferred Skills:- Experience working with Epic electronic health record system
Qualifications:- Valid state dental hygiene license- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program- CPR certification
