Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this role, you will work closely with our pediatric dentists to provide high-quality dental care to children in a friendly and supportive environment. Your primary focus will be on assisting with various dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort of young patients.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Educate patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems, including Eaglesoft.
Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties when required.
Implement aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Support the dentist in specialized areas such as endodontics when necessary.
Skills
Proficient in dental assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry.
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to pediatric dentistry.
Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health.
Experience with medical imaging techniques for accurate diagnostics.
Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus, enhancing communication with patients and families.
Understanding of aseptic technique to ensure patient safety during procedures.
