Permanent Dental Assistant Job in South Burlington, VT

Provide quality care and services to patients by directly assisting dentists and other dental team members in a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Ensure all patients enjoy a positive experience and are treated with care and compassion.

This position is for extended hours that will be subject to the schedule below.

Responsibilities:

Assist dentist chair-side by organizing and preparing instruments for dentist’s use and assisting as needed during procedures.
Take clinically acceptable X-rays as requested by the dentist. Manage digital radiographs.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment.
Collect and record patient health histories (dental and medical) and record information for the dentist’s reference before the examination.
Advise patients in dental care instructions following procedures.
Follow through with post-visit duties.
Demonstrate knowledge of dental procedures, clinic infection control procedures, cleaning and sterilization of instruments, tray setup and materials.
Stay up to date on OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Communicate effectively with all office staff and patients
Interact positively with a diverse patient population.
Demonstrate knowledge of skills necessary to meet the patient’s physical, educational, and safety needs.
Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

One to three years of progressive customer service experience.
Experience in a call center and/or medical office is highly desirable.
Familiarity with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
Basic office skills: typing, faxing, scanning, and telephone etiquette.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, the hours of operations, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, potential extended hours may include up to 8:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am- 1:00 pm on select Saturdays.

Education:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
