EXPERIENCED DENTAL ASSISTANT - DR. KARL SHAO - Portland, OR

Job OverviewWe are seeking a FULL TIME, long term, dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to assist the dentist during various procedures.
Duties

Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and materials are ready for procedures.
Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, including endodontics and other specialized procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories and treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Adhere to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Manage dental software systems such as EagleSoft or Dentrix for scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
Perform administrative tasks as needed, including managing inventory of dental supplies.

Skills

Proficient in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
Experience with coding is a plus for managing insurance claims and billing processes.
Strong understanding of infection control measures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Ability to assist in various dental procedures while demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills with patients.

DAYS AND HOURS: MON. AND TUES. HOURS ARE 8AM TO 5PM, WED. 7AM TO 5PM
AND THURSDAY 7AM TO 2PM.
