Periodontal Dental Assistant - Grand River Periodontics - Grandville, MI

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during surgical procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring the comfort of our patients.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental surgical procedures
- Assist the dentist during surgical procedures
- Take X-rays
- Perform dental charting and medical documentation
- Maintain infection control protocols and sterilize dental instruments
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Assist hygienists as needed
- Help prepare correspondence to referring doctors
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays
- Familiarity with dental coding and documentation practices
- Excellent infection control practices and knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Experience with digital charting (Open Dental)
- Ability to work well in a team environment and provide exceptional patient care
- Experience working with periodontal patients is preferred
- Registered or certified dental assistant is preferred
