Job Description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the dental team.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal treatments on patients.
Assess and document patient medical histories, including vital signs and medical records.
Review documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with health regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to maintain a safe environment.
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures as needed.
Conduct medical imaging procedures, including X-rays, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
Utilize dental software for patient management and record keeping.
Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on best practices in dental hygiene.
Qualifications
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with medical coding practices.
Experience with dental software systems.
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to perform vital sign assessments and review documentation accurately.
Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required.
