OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional support to our dental team and care to our patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control.
Part-Time. Days - Thu, Fri (8.30 am to 5 pm) and Sat (8.30 am to 3 pm)
Duties
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, including medical coding and management of medical records.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Assist in various dental specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics as needed.
Utilize dental systems such as Epic for patient management and scheduling.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Perform routine administrative tasks including appointment scheduling and managing patient inquiries.
Experience
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with knowledge in assisting with various dental procedures.
Familiarity with infection control standards and practices within a dental setting.
Experience with medical documentation processes, including medical coding and record management.
Exposure to pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with experience in prosthodontics and endodontics.
Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
