Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. Responsibilities:- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including general dentistry, orthodontics, and oral surgery- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and arranging dental instruments and equipment- Take and develop dental x-rays- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories- Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
Skills:To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft- Knowledge of medical terminology and dental coding procedures- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail- Basic knowledge of dental anatomy
