Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
Assist in the preparation of patients for dental procedures by ensuring their comfort and providing instructions.
Take and record patientsâ medical histories, vital signs, and other necessary details.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients.
2. Assisting Dentists:
Aid the dentist during examinations and treatments, such as holding instruments and providing suction.
Pass dental instruments and materials to the dentist.
Assist in taking dental X-rays and preparing films for interpretation.
3. Administrative Support:
Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
Handle patient billing, insurance verification, and payment processing.
Maintain a clean and organized dental office, ensuring that all supplies are stocked.
4. Sterilization and Safety:
Follow safety protocols for infection control and sterilization of equipment and work areas.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and place orders when needed.
5. Patient Education:
Educate patients on dental hygiene practices and the importance of oral care.
Explain dental procedures and assist with patient concerns.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (some positions require a dental assistant program or certification).
Certification in radiography (if applicable).
Knowledge of dental procedures, equipment, and terminology.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to patient care.
Working Conditions:
Full-time positions in a dental office or clinic setting.
Flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on the practice.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.39 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
