Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a sterile environment. This position requires a strong understanding of aseptic techniques, infection control, and medical documentation. A background in pediatrics or general dentistry is a plus, as well as experience with dental reception tasks.
Responsibilities
Assist the surgical team during procedures by preparing instruments and equipment.
Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols throughout the surgical process.
Perform medical documentation accurately and efficiently.
Utilize medical imaging technologies to assist with patient diagnostics.
Collaborate with dentists and specialists in endodontics to ensure optimal patient care.
Provide support in managing patient flow and scheduling appointments.
Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
Ensure all surgical instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and organized post-procedure.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of pediatrics, general dentistry, or endodontics is advantageous.
Familiarity with Dentrix software for managing patient records is desirable.
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential.
Ability to handle medical imaging equipment effectively.
