Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic GP dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of general dentistry practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques.
Take and record vital signs of patients to ensure their health and safety during treatments.
Utilize dental software such as Dentrix for patient management and record-keeping.
Operate 3D scanners for imaging purposes as needed.
Provide support in prosthodontics procedures by preparing materials and assisting with fittings.
Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental office, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Skills
Proficiency in general dentistry practices, including knowledge of dental instruments and procedures.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond to any changes in patient condition.
Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix is preferred.
Experience with 3D scanning technology (Itero & Cerec) is a plus.
Strong understanding of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment.
Knowledge of prosthodontics is beneficial for assisting with specialized procedures.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in medical coding can enhance your candidacy.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy practice setting.
