This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and educating patients on proper dental hygiene practices.
Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and vital signs.
Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures with precision.
Implement infection control protocols in accordance with industry standards and HIPAA regulations.
Utilize four-handed dentistry techniques to assist the dentist during procedures effectively.
Document patient treatment plans and progress accurately in the electronic health record system.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary recommendations, and preventive care.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before submitting for medical coding.
Maintain a clean and organized dental clinic environment to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Proficiency in infection control practices and knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Experience with four-handed dentistry is preferred but not required.
Strong skills in patient assessment, documentation review, and medical coding are advantageous.
Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is essential.
Previous experience in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
