Dental Hygienist-Job Overview
As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health and preventing dental diseases. The dental hygienist will work closely with dentists to provide quality dental care to patients.
Dental Hygienist Duties- Perform dental cleanings and remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth- Take dental x-rays and assist dentists in procedures- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and proper care techniques- Conduct screenings for oral health conditions- Maintain patient records and update medical histories- Administer fluoride treatments and apply sealants- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure infection control- Use dental terminology accurately in patient communication
Skills- Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation-Eaglesoft- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy- Strong patient care skills and the ability to work with diverse populations- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices- Competence in managing medical records and utilizing dental software systems
